The aim of the CoppeTeX project is to provide a LaTeX framework suitable for writing thesis and dissertations according to the formatting rules established by the Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute for Graduate Studies and Research in Engineering (COPPE/UFRJ). It is also intended to construct a friendly environment where users can discuss general LaTeX issues, and to which all COPPE students (but not exclusively) are pleasantly invited.
The CoppeTeX toolkit comprises a LaTeX document class, and BibTeX and Makeindex styles. Its document class allows the composition of MSc dissertations, DSc qualifying exams, and DSc thesis. The BibTeX style creates numbered lists of bibliographic references whose entries are sorted in the order they are cited. The Makeindex style helps to create sorted lists of abbreviations and symbols. There is still a mailing list where people can post questions concerning the distributed material, as well as TeX/LaTeX related problems.
