New partnership between AIP Publishing and Overleaf provides an enhanced authoring experience
London, UK and Melville, NY – 22 October 2018 — Overleaf, a collaborative cloud-based writing and reviewing tool, and AIP Publishing announce a new partnership to provide AIP Publishing authors with a new, enhanced authoring template and simplified submission process.
Through this partnership, authors submitting to 22 AIP Publishing Journals and the AIP Conference Proceedings will have access to AIP Publishing’s LaTeX templates within Overleaf. Once finished writing, authors can submit their manuscripts directly to AIP Publishing journals. This simplifies the submission process and offer an easier and faster way to collaborate and write articles.
Jason Wilde, Chief Publishing Officer of AIP Publishing says:
“We’re pleased to offer Overleaf to our community of physical science researchers. The integrated templates and collaboration tools that Overleaf provides greatly simplify and improve the authoring experience.”
John Hammersley, Founder & CEO of Overleaf says:
“We’re very excited to be working with AIP Publishing who are dedicated to delivering the latest technology innovations to their authors. Together we share a like-minded goal - to encourage and improve academic collaboration, and the newly enhanced template and option to easily submit to AIP Publishing journals and their conference proceedings is an excellent resource and addition to the Overleaf platform.”
Links to the templates and Overleaf platform will be available within the author instructions guidelines on AIP Publishing’s Scitation platform.
About AIP Publishing
AIP Publishing is a wholly owned not-for-profit subsidiary of the American Institute of Physics (AIP). AIP Publishing’s mission is to support the charitable, scientific and educational purposes of AIP through scholarly publishing activities in the fields of the physical and related sciences on its own behalf and on behalf of our publishing partners to help them proactively advance their missions.
Overleaf was founded in 2012 by two mathematicians who built a light-weight collaboration system and used it for writing research papers. It was simple and intuitive to use – all you needed was a web browser. This intuitive online platform has since seen rapid adoption across science and research, and Overleaf's award-winning collaboration technology is now in use by over 2.9 million researchers, students and technical writers in institutions, labs and industry worldwide. Part of Digital Science, and working in collaboration with international publishers and organizations, Overleaf is helping to make science and research faster, more open and more transparent by bringing the whole scientific writing process into one connected place in the cloud - from idea, to writing, to review, to publication. In mid-2017 Overleaf acquired its nearest competitor ShareLaTeX, and our expanded team worked together to build an even stronger next-generation platform.
